System calibration
With this new metric in hand, I went out into the field and conducted 23 studies at Soofa Sign locations in the Boston area, comparing real-world time-stamped data of when people entered a given Sign’s viewable impression zone to the data collected by the Sign’s Wi-Fi sensor.
By stripping away some filtering on the data previously in place, I was able to see collected data that more closely matched the real-world system and created a new method for calibrating Soofa Sign sensors that avoided issues of randomization in device identifications.
